FAQ

Choosing exceptional early education for your child is a big decision. Here are the answers to help you feel confident about joining our community.

What ages do you serve at your daycare center?

We welcome children from 6 weeks to 5 years old at our Fishtown location. Our programs include infant daycare (6 weeks-1 year), toddler daycare (1-3 years), and preschool (3-5 years). Each age group follows our Montessori-inspired curriculum designed to support developmental milestones.

Where is Education Nation Learning Academy located?

We're located at 1942 N Front Street, Philadelphia, PA 19122 in the heart of Fishtown. We proudly serve families from Northern Liberals, Old City, Rittenhouse Square, Center City, Queen Village, Society Hill, and Fitler Square.

Do you offer part-time daycare options?

Yes! We offer both full-time care (5 days/week) and part-time daycare (2 or 3 days/week). We also provide flexible scheduling with 8am-4pm, 8am-6pm, or 6am-6pm options to fit your family's needs.

What are your hours of operation?

We're open Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We offer three convenient schedule options: 8am-4pm, 8am-6pm, or 6am-6pm. Our extended hours support working parents with flexible drop-off and pick-up times.

What are your teacher-to-child ratios?

Pennsylvania state standards require 1:4 for infants, 1:5 for toddlers, and 1:10 for preschoolers. We exceed these standards with our smaller ratios of 1:3 for infants, 1:4 for toddlers, and 1:8 for preschoolers. Our lower ratios ensure more personalized attention, allowing teachers to focus on each child's individual development.

What curriculum do you follow?

We follow a Montessori-inspired curriculum that emphasizes hands-on learning, independence, and child-led exploration. Our approach includes practical life skills, sensorial activities, language development, mathematics, and cultural studies.

How can I learn about tuition and enrollment?

For detailed tuition information based on your child's age and schedule preferences, schedule a tour online, call us at (800) 842-5397, or visit our Contact page. We're happy to discuss tuition pricing and available discounts.

Do you provide potty training support?

Yes! Our toddler daycare program includes gentle, consistent potty training support. We work closely with families to follow your home potty training approach, encourage independence in the bathroom, celebrate successes, handle accidents with patience, and communicate daily progress. We believe in partnership with parents to make this milestone as smooth as possible.

Can I schedule a tour of your facility?

Absolutely! We encourage families to visit before enrolling. Click the "Schedule A Tour" button at the top of this page to book your visit online. Tours typically last 30-45 minutes and give you a chance to see our Montessori-inspired classrooms and ask questions.

How do parents communicate with staff and get updates?

We use a secure parent communication app that keeps you connected to your child's day in real time. Through the app, you can message teachers directly, receive instant updates when your child eats, sleeps, or gets changed, and view photos and videos of your child learning and playing throughout the day. Parents love staying connected to their child's daycare experience,  while they're at work. It's like having a window into your child's world at our facility!

What makes Education Nation different from other daycare centers?

We offer a Montessori-inspired curriculum with hands-on, child-led learning, maintain low teacher-to-child ratios for personalized attention, and provide flexible scheduling including part-time daycare options. Our extended hours (6am-6pm) support working families, and our prime Fishtown location is convenient for Northern Liberties, Old City, Queens Village and Center City families. Most importantly, our experienced educators create a safe, nurturing environment focused on your child's emotional and social development.

What safety measures do you have in place?

Your child's safety is our top priority. We maintain secure entry with keypad access, surveillance cameras throughout the facility, and comprehensive emergency preparedness plans with regular drills. Our staff are trained in CPR and First Aid, fully background-checked, and maintain daily cleaning and sanitization protocols to ensure a safe, healthy environment for every child.

Is your center accessible by public transportation?

Yes! We're conveniently located just one block away from the Berks Station on SEPTA's Market-Frankford Line (the El/L train). Families from Center City, Old City, and surrounding neighborhoods can easily reach us via the El. Just get off at Berks Station, and it's a short walk to our center at 1942 N Front Street. Our Fishtown location makes us easily accessible for families relying on public transportation.

Do you provide meals and snacks?

We provide two healthy snacks daily for all children. However, we ask parents to pack their child's breakfast and lunch due to varying food allergies and dietary restrictions. This allows families to ensure their child receives meals that meet their specific nutritional needs and allergy requirements. We maintain a safe, allergy-conscious environment and are happy to accommodate any special dietary needs.

Do you provide diapers and wipes?

We provide wipes for all diaper changes throughout the day. However, parents are responsible for supplying their child's diapers. Please send a supply of diapers with your child each day or week, and we'll let you know through the parent communication app when your child's diaper stock is running low. This ensures your child has the specific diaper brand and size that works best for them.

What payment methods do you accept for tuition?

We accept ACH bank transfers, credit cards, and cash for tuition payments. Payment is processed through our secure system for your convenience. Whether you prefer automatic monthly payments via ACH, the flexibility of credit card payments, or cash, we make it easy for families to pay in the way that works best for them.

What support services do you offer for parents?

We believe in supporting the whole family, not just your child! We offer a parent network to connect families, parent reset events focused on mental health and wellness, yoga classes, holistic therapy sessions, and postpartum yoga to help new parents navigate the challenges of parenthood. We understand that parent well-being is essential to family success, so we create opportunities for self-care, community building, and mental health support. You're not just enrolling in childcare. You're joining a supportive community!

What qualifications do your teachers have?

Every classroom has at least one teacher with an Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or professional degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. All of our teachers are knowledgeable in Montessori-style teaching methods and bring both formal training and hands-on experience to their work. Our educators are background-checked, CPR and First Aid certified, and committed to providing the highest quality care and education for your child.
